Hazel Bluff Red Angus

HAZEL BLUFF RED ANGUS, was established in 1991 as a purebred Red Angus operation. From its modest beginnings the herd has grown to over 100 purebred breeding females, as well as a commercial Red Angus x Gelbvieh herd. We market almost all our animals, purebred Red Angus bulls and replacement females and our Red Angus /Gelbvieh replacement heifers and a few bulls by private treaty. Hazel Bluff Red Angus is a family operation, run by Erich, Meggie & Martin Clausen, near Westlock, AB (about an hours drive north of Edmonton).

Show & Sale Results:
HAZEL BLUFF RED ANGUS has currently a select group of Red Angus yearling and 2-year old bulls for sale. All weights, indexes as well as pedigrees and EPD's are available. Sires include Red Ubar Grand Prix, Red HCF Red Rock 212, Red Basin Sensation 3698, Red KBJ Matador 1022R, Red HB Monu 32N, Red HB Mercury 76R. All bulls are semen tested and scrotal measured and fully guaranteed. We follow a strict herd health and vaccination schedule. They are very correct with a good disposition. The current weight is approx. 1100 to 1350lbs. We also have a very nice group of commercial Red Angus x Gelbvieh as well as purebred, registered Red Angus open yearling heifers available. We will assist with delivery.

Breeding Program:
HAZEL BLUFF RED ANGUS got started with cows and bred heifers purchased out of the Sanrose Red Angus and Maybridge Red Angus herds. With the extensive use of A.I. Sires as well as herdsires purchased from Bar V Farms, Diamond D Angus, Towaw Red Angus, KBJ Angus,and SSS Red Angus we developed our current herd.  
Our goal is to raise functional, easy keeping females with good temperament and longevity and solid bulls with moderate BW's that will work well and complement both the commercial and purebred breeding programs.
