Prairielane Farms Ltd.
Prairielane Farms Ltd. is owned and operated by Michael, Blaine and Pauline Canning along with Blaine's parents. The farm consists of approximately 4000 acres of which 1500 acres is sown to forages, cereal grains and oil seeds. The Prairielane herd consists of 250 purebred females of which approximately 1/3 are Red Angus and 2/3 are Black. 
The breeding season is limited to 63 days. The herd has remained closed for many years and new bloodlines are introduced through A.I. Calves are not creep fed to allow the milking ability of the females to be expressed. Contemporary groups are large to make true comparisons between individuals. Full performance information is available on all cattle born at Prairielane. Prairielane sells only proven seedstock.

Breeding Program:
Prairielane Farms has been breeding purebred angus for well over 50 years. Breeding generation upon generation and using basic economic traits to produce functional working Angus cattle. 
Our goals are: 
1: To select cattle that will grow rapidly to one year of age. 
2: To maintain a herd with high reproductive performance and physical soundness. 
3: To have cattle that are quiet and easy to work with. 
4: To have cattle that are easy fleshing and that can adapt to environmental changes.
